As Hexicans stakes start coming to fruition, a lot of people have been wondering if it's possible to stake their Hex using a Ledger. In this medium post I set out to provide an easy guide on how to do this.
- Buy a Ledger: https://shop.ledger.com/pages/ledger-nano-x
This guide will be with a Nano Ledger X, however any Ledger device should work. Be sure to buy your Ledger directly from the Ledger site and not some resale company.
2. Set up your Ledger https://www.ledger.com/start
3. Connect your Ledger to MetaMask https://metamask.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020394612-How-to-connect-a-Trezor-or-Ledger-Hardware-Wallet
4. Send Hex to your Ledger Ethereum address. In my case its the 0xba21…… address.
5. Connect your ledger to your PC. Unlock it and Navigate to the Ethereum App.
Open the App and navigate to Settings.
Change Contract data to Allow contract data in transactions to Allowed
6. We are now ready to stake! Go to https://go.hex.com/stake/ and make your stake! You will be prompted with the standard MetaMask transaction prompts.
